MSI will be showing its CX480 and CX640 notebook computers with Intel 2nd generation Core™ i processors and its CX670 with AMD's new generation processor platform at Computex. These powerful new processor platforms are primed to perform.

Taipei—MSI will be unveiling new additions to its C Series of multimedia notebook computers at Computex 2011. They include the 15.6-inch CX670 and CX640 and the 14-inch CX480. MSI has cranked up the systems performance of the CX480 and CX640 NBs with Intel second generation Core™ i processors and nVidia's GeForce GT520M discrete graphics card and the CX670 with AMD's new generation processing platform.

Eric Kuo, associate vice president for global sales, MSI Notebook, observes that data security in new generation C Series multimedia laptops has been kicked up a couple of notches. The CX640 and CX480, for example, feature Time Stamp and Restore software, so with the touch of a button, you can completely backup or restore in just a few dozen seconds. Even cooler, you can set Time Stamp to backup data regularly, doing so in as little as ten seconds. You can even restore your system to its pristine state without even turning on your computer.

Performance - the name of the game
Intel 2nd generation Core™ i CPU: The CX640 and CX480 feature Intel powerful second generation Core™ i processors, vastly enhancing performance over previous generations. In addition, MSI's fast boot technology gets the CX640 up and running in half the time that it takes other laptop computers. *Boot-up time will vary with different hardware specs and environments.

MSI's GPU Boost: The CX640 and CX480 are discrete-graphics models featuring the DirectX 11-supporting nVidia GeForce GT520M discrete graphics card with 1GB of display memory. What's more, when executing high load applications, the GPU Boost's automatic graphics switching cuts over to discrete graphics card mode to kick graphics processing up a notch or two and when you’re performing general word processing tasks or surfing the Internet, it automatically switches to the power-sipping integrated graphics chip mode, striking the ideal balance between performance and battery life.

USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 3.0: MSI's CX670 comes with the latest USB 3.0, which transfers data at up to 4.8Gbps—10 times faster than USB 2.0. The CX480 is equipped with new generation Bluetooth 3.0, which does its job at 24Mbps—three times faster than Bluetooth 2.1. Both USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 3.0 come optional with the CX640.

The latest hardware for HD viewing: The CX640, CX670, and CX480's cinema-class, 16:9 ratio LED displays are ideal for viewing films. In addition to richer colors and distortion-free images, you don't have those annoying black strips at the top and bottom of the screen when viewing HD films. The CX670 laptop also comes equipped with an HD720p webcam to give you rich, smooth, clear pictures when conferencing with friends and family over the Internet. Protecting your data
Time Stamp backup and restoration: Data backup and restoration are no longer a hassle with MSI's Time Stamp software. With one touch, this new application backs up or restores data on the CX640 and CX480 in just seconds. You can set Time Stamp to back up automatically and it only takes ten seconds to finish the job. You don't even have to turn your computer on to execute systems restoration and get your computer back into tiptop health.

"Air tight" protection: Traditionally, hard drives are located in one corner of laptops, so if a laptop is dropped accidently, there's a good chance the hard drive is going to be seriously damaged. With this in mind, MSI made a point of placing the hard drive away from the structure when designing the CX640 to further safeguard it. MSI also packed the hard drive in reinforced protection to form a sort of "air bag," providing protection against shock.
