MSI GE Raider and GS Stealth series are built with the latest killer E3100G LAN and Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675. The Killer E3100G LAN delivers up to 2.5Gbps connection bandwidth make sure that you have the fastest connection via the cables. Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675 supports 6GHz band with numerous 160 MHz channels and delivers the fastest Wi-Fi yet enabling multi-gigabit low latency connections.
The combination also provides the special function “Killer DoubleShot Pro” and “Killer Wireless xTend”.Before starting to introduce these two functions which are disregarded easily, you need to connect the internet or the router with both wire and wireless.
Killer DoubleShot Pro
Killer DoubleShot Pro picks the fastest connection between your Killer Wireless and Killer Ethernet but that isn't all. By allowing your interfaces to work together, you will have the maximum throughput of up to 4.9 Gbps!(2.5 Gbps from LAN + 2.4 Gbps from wireless)
You can find this function by right clicking on Killer Intelligence Center icon in system tray. To enable the DoubleShot Pro feature, just go to the Settings tab. Click the checkbox next to Killer DoubleShot Pro.
You can allocate the internet connection through Ethernet adapter or wireless adapter by different demands or usage. For gaming purpose, we suggest that you keep them onpriority category 1-3 on Killer Ethernet E3100G. You also can let killer help you allocate the internet connection automatically by the rules created for best gaming experience.
Killer Wireless xTend
Killer Wireless xTend can turn your gaming laptop into Wi-Fi extender or Wi-Fi hotspot to share the internet connection to other mobile devices that couldn’t reach a stable signal from the Wi-Fi router. You can find it in the same location of Killer DoubleShot Pro.
There are two options of operation: “Create hotspot” and “Extend Current Network”.
Option 1: Create Hotspot
Hotspot mode creates a new hotspot that allows other connected devices to access network through the Killer Ethernet E3100G. This separates hotspot mode results in two different networks to choose from, such as 'Network_MSI' and 'Network_MSI_ext.'It means that you need to join an additional Wi-Fi SSID to get the connection.
Option 2:Extend Current Network with Mesh Network
Mesh network mode enlarges the network area by cloning the SSID and login data from the parent network to create a mesh network. There is only one network name visible here, and wireless hardware will automatically change which node it is connected through based on signal strength as you move around. However, if the host gaming laptop is also connected to the router via Wi-Fi, it will split the bandwidth and only let all connected devices use up to half, leaving the other half for the host laptop. If the host gaming laptop is connected via LAN, the Wireless xTend software will allow connected devices to use all available wireless bandwidth.
After figuring out the difference of 2 options, you can choose the one suitable to apply. We suggest that to choose Option 1 to make sure those devices could connect with complete bandwidth and larger signal area.
