The next generation of laptops have the power and cutting-edge technology that gamers and creators need, all wrapped up in a visually appealing package

Today’s gamers and creators expect a lot from their computers. Gamers want to feel completely immersed in complicated worlds, while creators need to bring inspiration to life quickly and seamlessly. Increasingly, they want all this power and advanced technology “to go.”

Portable and powerful used to mean bulky. But as technology has advanced, so consumers have come to expect laptops that equal desktop performance and come encased in a sleek, exquisitely designed package. “The desire for beautiful things is in people’s DNA,” says Derek Chen, MSI Notebook worldwide sales and marketing director.

Laptops are no longer purely tools; they have become everyday accessories as much as a backpack or handbag, notes Chen. “What you carry and use also expresses your personal style and taste,” he says. “We believe a premium laptop should not only perform, but also attract.”

At the heart of these demands is the pursuit of ever-thinner, ever-lighter devices that can be carried anywhere with confidence and ease. “Laptops that are 25 millimeters thick or less now take up more than half the market and make up the fastest-growing segments,” Mr. Chen says. Within the line-up of MSI’s high-performance laptops, the Creator Z16 is just 15.9 millimeters thick and the GS Stealth line 20mm thick; all the other newly launched MSI laptops are 26mm or thinner.

TECH MEETS AESTHETIC

Understanding that users want beauty as well as power from their laptops has led MSI’s engineers and designers to take “Tech Meets Aesthetic” as their guiding principle, Mr. Chen says. At MSI, that principle is easier to apply because—unlike many of its peers—the company has its own R&D team and factory, and more than 2,000 in-house engineers. This means it can rapidly experiment with different technologies and designs, enabling it to bring new concepts to fruition faster.

MSI engineers labor over every color, contour, texture and finish. Consider the display of the Creator series, aimed at serious creatives. Its designers were inspired by the “golden ratio,” recognized since ancient Greek times as the formula for eye-pleasing composition. The screen is unique in following a ratio of 16:10, offering vital screen real estate as well as enhancing the display’s appearance.

The “Tech Meets Aesthetic” principle is also visible in MSI’s iconic dragon logo etched into the back of its laptops, in the rounded lines and CNC-milled aluminum chassis of the Creator series and the colorful backlit keyboards of the Sword and Katana gaming series.

LESS WAITING, MORE CREATING

Today’s creators truly put the “multi” in multimedia production. VR, AR, CAD, video editing and music production are just some of the hugely demanding tasks users now expect of laptops. High performance is the difference between an instant preview and having to wait hours for renderings, says Mr. Chen. “A decent laptop should have a powerful processor and graphics capabilities to accelerate creators’ workflow, so they spend more time creating and less time waiting.”

All the latest MSI laptops come with Intel® 11th gen core™ processor for faster processing. NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 30 Series render scenes quickly, and video editors benefit from faster encoding while editing up to 8K HDR RAW footage. The Creator 17, the world’s first laptop with mini LED technology, comes with up to 16GB of graphics memory, so users can work with huge assets and across multiple apps simultaneously. Featuring 1,000 nits brightness and an HDR effect, it allows video editors to see detail easily in light or dark scenes. Finer control over highlights and shadows is a given, producing more lifelike imagery.

Displays are also crucial to see work vividly and accurately. All MSI Creator laptops have an exclusive True Pixel display with QHD resolution and color accuracy.

Creators also need a “canvas” that is large, easy to manipulate and easily shared, so the Creator Z16 features a touchscreen display that can be laid flat.

All new MSI Creator laptops have the latest Wi-Fi 6E technology that takes advantage of additional spectrum to improve connection reliability.

INSPIRED GAMING

Today’s gamers aren’t just seeking great performance at an affordable price; they want a cool-looking laptop with a story to tell when taking their rig out to see friends. The new MSI mainstream gaming laptops make these dreams possible.

MSI collaborated with respected game artists to bring inspiration to its updated gaming lines. It worked with legendary illustrator Tsuyoshi Nagano on the Sword GF and Katana GF models. The new chassis is inspired by the idea of an island “dragon tribe” that forges tough and powerful swords. The Sword GF is pure white and the Katana GF all black; the clean look is complemented by red or blue keyboard backlighting.

For the Pulse GL series, MSI worked with digital concept sculptor Maarten Verhoeven. In this story, dragon soldiers fly about the galaxy wearing titanium shielding and conquering with a buzzing claw blade. Fittingly, the Pulse GL laptops’ titanium-gray cover is contoured to evoke the look of armor, while a hexagonal design on the underside represents interstellar fighters in flight.

Of course, looks aren’t everything when it comes to gaming laptops. As games get ever more realistic, their hardware requirements become more demanding too.

MSI’s new models feature NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 30 Series that can adapt to even the fastest-moving games without compromising on image quality, while Intel® 11th gen core™ processor promote a smoother and more responsive performance, with reduced lag.

MSI’s high-end GE and GS series are designed to help gamers conquer the battlefield—and the pure black GS76 Stealth is a CES 2021 innovation award-winner thanks to what CES calls its “blazingly fast” display. All MSI laptops also use a unique cooling system to optimize performance without overheating.

AN INNOVATIVE EDGE

MSI may have its roots in gaming, but its ambitions to develop and grow mean it is now creating superior laptop technology designed to offer a solution for everything from content creation to business development. Its laptops are no longer just powerful but also light, thin and therefore mobile-friendly. Altogether, the brand continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in laptop design and style. And it‘s gaining recognition for its success: MSI was voted top laptop brand winner for the third time in 2021 by a leading tech publication and MSI laptops have also performed well in tech media rankings.

With it “Tech Meets Aesthetic” motto and significant in-house R&D expertise and production capability, MSI is accustomed to marrying cutting-edge technology with beautiful design—and doing it with style.
