Answer

An incomplete initialization process on Windows, known as Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE), will cause incorrect system factory settings in the Windows registry. This registry setting will affect the initialization of applications downloaded from the Microsoft Store.

MSI Center checks the Windows system settings upon its initialization; the incorrect factory settings in the Windows registry mislead MSI Center that the system initialization is incomplete, therefore, being interrupted from continuing the application initialization.

Note:

1)MSI laptops with pre-installed systems will not encounter this issue.

2)The registry modification step is only applicable to users with administrator privileges.

3)Registry modifications are irreversible; any improper changes may result in system malfunctions. Before the adjustment begins, make sure to back up all personal data, or backup the original system registry referring to Microsoft Windows Registry Info in case a registry restore is needed.

If a self-install Windows or a clean installation of the Windows system is performed before encountering the problem, follow the steps to check the value of "Image State" in the system registry.

    - If the Image State shows "IMAGE_STATE_COMPLETE", contact MSI technical support for further assistance.

    - If the Image State shows "IMAGE_STATE_UNDEPLOYABLE", "IMAGE_STATE_GENERALIZE_RESEAL_TO_OOBE", etc., the system factory setting is abnormal, continue with the steps below to solve the problem by adjusting the system registry.

1. Open the System Registry:

Press the Win+R keys, type "regedit" and press Enter.

2. Find the registry key by following the address:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\State

3. Double-click the parameter "ImageState" on the right to edit the registry parameter:

    A. Change the value to "IMAGE_STATE_COMPLETE."

    B. Click OK.

4. Restart the laptop and check if MSI Center is functioning properly.
