How to mitigate the possible static electricity phenomenon when using the laptop
Answer
Static electricity is a natural phenomenon caused by the imbalance of electric charges within or on the object surface. It usually happened in dry area or to highly sensitive people.
When using laptop connected to unearthed (not grounded to earth) environment, it is likely to build up the electric charge, thereby causing the static electric shock. There are several ways to mitigate the buildup of electric charge; however, advices or assistances from a licensed electrician is necessary when the phenomenon happened only under the AC mode; If the phenomenon persists under only DC mode, please contact the MSI official Service Center for support.
1. Connect to a grounded power adapter (three-pronged) when charging the laptop to avoid possible static electric shock
2. Remove unnecessary cable and peripheral.
3. Place the laptop on non-metallic surface and stay away from other electronic devices
4. Apply hand cream to stay moisturized to decrease friction.
5. Use humidifier to increase the humidity and prevent the buildup of electric charge.
