[How To] Setup webcam for recording or video conference applications

To use the laptop bundled webcam for video recording or joining a video conference call, follow the setup steps below to apply the camera-related settings.
1. If the laptop has a physical “Webcam Lock Switch”, switch to unlock before using the webcam. (Refer to the user manual on MSI website to check the switch support for your notebook model)
2. Enable the webcam by using the keyboard shortcut key [Fn] + [F6] (The actual shortcut key may vary from model to model).
3. Go to Windows Settings > Privacy & security > Camera, enable “Camera access” and allow the desired application is able to access the camera.
4. If the webcam is required to use on a conference meeting with a browser, make sure the camera permissions are allowed for the site.
5. If using a video conference application, the camera setting in the application is required to be enabled when needed.
Note: If the webcam is currently in use, the other applications will not be able to access the webcam. Turning off the application that is using the webcam before enabling the webcam in another application.
