Answer

Windows 11 has native support for Android Apps by Amazon Appstore which is only available in the United State. For users from other regions, Android Apps can be installed by sideloading the subsystem manually. This document includes the introduction of the setup processes for running Android Apps on MSI laptops.



1.    Go to Settings > Windows Update, and click on “Check for updates” to make sure Windows is up to date. 

2.    Open Microsoft Store and find “Microsoft Store” in the library, and make sure the application is up to date. 

3.    Open Windows Settings and go to Apps > Optional features, then select “More Windows features”.

4.    Enable “Virtual Machine Platform” and click on “OK” to restart the system.

5.    Download “Amazon Appstore” from Microsoft Store and log in to the Amazon account to get the Android Apps. (Only for United State users)

 

If Amazon Appstore is not available in the current region, proceed to the following steps to get Android Apps by sideloading the Windows Subsystem.



6.    Install Windows Subsystem for Android.

i.    Right-click on the Start button and open Windows Terminal as administrator.

ii.    Key in “winget install 9p3395vx91nr -s msstore” and press [Enter].

iii.    Type [Y] and press [Enter] to accept the agreements. 

iv.    Type [Y] and press [Enter] again to accept the license terms and wait for the package to be installed.

 

7.    Install Android ADB tool.

i.    Download and execute “15-second ADB Installer” as administrator.

ii.    Windows Terminal will be launched automatically, then press [Y] and [Enter] 3 times for installing the 3 components – “ADB and Fastboot”, “ADB system-wide”, and “Drivers”.

iii.    When installing the drivers, the installer will pop up a Window, then follow the on-screen instruction to complete the driver’s installation.

 

8.    Connect to Windows Subsystem through ADB.

i.    Open Windows Subsystem for Android, and select “Developer” tab.

ii.    Enable Developer mode, and click on “Manage developer settings”.

iii.    When “Windows Subsystem for Android” is launched, copy the IP Address in Windows Subsystem for Android Settings.

iv.    Execute “Windows Terminal” as administrator again and type “adb connect + IP Address”.

 



9.    Get Aurora Store APK to install Android Apps.

i.    Download Aurora Store APK from their official website.

ii.    Copy the file path.

iii.    Open Windows Terminal again, and type “adb install + the file path of Aurora Store APK”, then press [Enter].

 

10.    Finish the setup processes of Aurora Store and start downloading Android Apps.

i.    Launch Aurora Store and accept the terms, then click on [Next].

ii.    At the second installer section, select “Session Installer” and click on “Next”.

iii.    According to personal preferences finish the 3rd and 4th sections’ UI setup.

iv.    At the last stage, click on “GRANT” for all the 3 items and allow all the permissions of files and unknown apps.

v.    Click on “Finish” to complete the setup processes
