When displaying a full black screen, a slight glow or lighter areas may be visible around the corners or edges of the display. This is a normal optical characteristic inherent to modern panels, commonly referred to as Backlight Bleeding, IPS Glow, or the Mura effect.
It is typically caused by the panel's structural alignment or minor mechanical stress from system assembly.
MSI display panels undergo strict quality control standards. This visual effect is usually only noticeable when viewing a solid dark background in low-light environments. MSI recommends evaluating the screen under standard ambient lighting (such as normal office or home environments), where the effect will be virtually unnoticeable and will not impact daily usage, gaming, or the lifespan of the display.

About the Mura effect
“Mura” is a Japanese word meaning “unevenness.” For a panel or screen, it refers to uneven brightness or color across the display. Some Mura effects are inherent characteristics of the panel technology (for example, IPS Glow*¹). Others may result from limitations in panel manufacturing — such as microscopic dust trapped inside the panel during early production, or uneven coating during the thin-film process.
There are many types of Mura effect, each with different causes. When displaying black or gray images in a dark room, you may notice uneven areas at the corners or along part of the edge, appearing brighter or darker than the rest of the screen. In most cases, you won't notice this effect during normal use.
With current panel manufacturing technology, this effect is almost impossible to eliminate entirely. However, MSI performs tests during production to prevent severe Mura effects and reduce the chance of such panels reaching customers.
Currently, MSI uses high-brightness panels across all notebook products. Because of this characteristic, a black screen may still emit slight brightness when viewed in a dark room. This is nothing to be concerned about.
For other Mura effects, MSI applies an examination procedure*² during production to screen out severe cases.

1. IPS Glow — Due to the characteristics of IPS panels, you may notice differences in color or brightness at the same spot when viewed from different angles. Moving slightly away from the screen can reduce this effect.
