[Taipei, Taiwan] June 2026

MSI today announced a comprehensive rollout of motherboard BIOS updates for its entire Intel® 600, 700, and 800 Series lineups, introducing full compatibility with the newly launched HUDIMM (Single Sub-Channel DDR5, 1 x 32-bit) memory modules. This rapid deployment reflects MSI’s commitment to providing flexible hardware solutions for all users, particularly as global DDR5 memory prices remain elevated due to ongoing supply constraints.

HUDIMM is an emerging DDR5 specification designed to lower the barrier to entry for modern PC platforms. Unlike standard DDR5 UDIMMs, which use dual 32-bit sub-channels, HUDIMM architectures use a single 32-bit sub-channel. By optimizing the DRAM chip count per module, HUDIMM enables memory manufacturers to reduce production costs significantly. This makes the DDR5 ecosystem far more accessible to mainstream users, system integrators, and entry-level builders who were previously constrained by high component pricing.

MSI’s latest BIOS firmware ensures seamless detection, optimal initialization, and rock-solid stability for HUDIMM modules right out of the box, requiring zero manual configuration from end-users.

To take advantage of this new memory standard, MSI encourages users to download the latest BIOS firmware for their respective motherboards. Please visit the official MSI website to download the update and view the full motherboard support list here.
