Accordingly, AI solutions should enhance the user’s life and experience by amplifying one's capabilities to affect change and to solve problems in an equitable, socially acceptable, and environmentally friendly manner.

Transparency and Openness

AI solutions should strive to be open and transparent by providing traceability in any input processing or output generation, and where applicable, to challenge any output generated. Users should be provided necessary disclosures on an AI solution’s processing scope and means of using and controlling processing of data. Furthermore, AI solutions should endeavor to promote an open ecosystem by design to foster accessibility and inclusivity.

Privacy and Security

AI solutions should respect basic privacy rights of natural persons as prescribed under applicable laws. AI solutions should be designed to permit users greater control over how data, including personal data, is gathered, processed, and stored, in compliance with applicable privacy and data protection laws. AI solutions should be designed in accordance with industry standards so as to ensure such solutions are reliable and safe, secure from malicious actors, function as intended, and designed to prevent misuse or unintended outcomes.

Responsible Use

AI solutions should be designed for fair, equitable, responsible use, and not for any prohibited and/or restricted uses, including without limitation, the infringement and/or violation of applicable laws, the perpetration of bias, discrimination, disinformation, hate, harm, or explicit content, or the dissemination of virus or malware.

Compliance and Education

AI solutions should be designed with a view to complying with applicable laws and industry practices in letter and in spirit. Developers of AI solutions should attend regular industry training to stay informed on key developments and industry standards concerning AI development for products and solutions. Furthermore, AI solution development should be periodically reviewed by internal stakeholders and, where suitable, external consultants to ensure ongoing compliance with the evolving consensus on ethical AI practices.
