[How To] BIOS Update Guide

MSI continuously optimizes overall device performance through BIOS updates, including improving system stability, enhancing hardware compatibility, fixing security vulnerabilities, adding new feature support, and optimizing power management mechanisms.
If you need to update the BIOS, please follow the complete instructions below.
Ⅰ.How to download MSI BIOS update files
1.Visit the official MSI website.
2.Search for your laptop model.
3.Navigate to the product support page.
4.Select [Drivers & Downloads].
5.Switch to the [BIOS] tab.
6.Download the latest BIOS version.

After downloading
1.Extract the ZIP file.
2.Copy all extracted files to the root directory of a USB flash drive.
Before Starting
1.Keep the AC adapter connected throughout the entire update process. Do not interrupt the power supply.
2.Before updating the BIOS, restore all customized advanced settings (such as undervolting or overclocking) to the default values.
3.Use a USB flash drive formatted as FAT32.
4.If BitLocker encryption is enabled on your system, refer to[How To] Update BIOS on a BitLocker Enabled system before updating the BIOS.
Ⅱ.BIOS Update Procedures
1.When the MSI logo appears on screen, continuously press the 'Delete' key until you enter the BIOS setup screen.
2.In the BIOS [Save & Exit] tab, select[Load Optimized Defaults] and choose [Yes].

3.In the BIOS [Save & Exit] tab, select [Save Changes and Restart], choose [Yes], then re-enter BIOS after the device reboots.
4.Under the BIOS [Advanced] menu, select [UEFI BIOS Update] > [UEFI BIOS Update].
5.Select the USB flash drive storing the BIOS update files.

6.Open the USB storage device, select the matching BIOS update file, and choose Yes.


Note: After selecting the correct BIOS file, a prompt will pop up stating "The system will power off and then turn on automatically". Do not perform any operations after clicking Confirm. The device will reboot automatically and return to the BIOS screen.
7.On the main BIOS menu, click [Proceed with flash update].

8.Wait for the BIOS update to finish. Do NOT perform any of the following actions during the update:
a.Cut off power supply
b.Unplug the USB flash drive
c.Force a device restart

9.The device will reboot automatically. The BIOS update is fully completed once the system restarts and loads the Windows desktop.
