Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT)

The Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) is a global ecolabel for the IT sector. EPEAT helps purchasers, manufacturers, resellers, and others buy and sell environmentally preferable electronic products.

EPEAT-registered products must meet environmental performance criteria that address: materials selection, supply chain greenhouse gas emissions reduction, design for circularity and product longevity, energy conservation, end-of-life management and corporate performance.

The EPEAT-registered products can be found by searching the EPEAT registry. MSI offers the following products and services for EPEAT-registered products:

Reduce fluorinated greenhouse gas emissions from semiconductor production(4.1.10.2) MSI confirms the list of suppliers below that total annual spending is over 75% and assesses that it conforms from semiconductor production. The details of the reduction in F-GHG emission are as:

Spare Parts(4.4.2.3) MSI offers customers of all the products the option to purchase certain compatible spare parts (same specifications or higher specification parts) within 2 years after discontinuation of the product to increase the operational life of that product. Battery Replacement Information(4.4.2.4) The products may contain batteries that are replaceable once they reach the end of their useful life. For products that ship with accessories such as remote controls, keyboards, etc., containing alkaline batteries (AA, AAA, etc.), please refer to your product user guide for instructions on how to replace those batteries. Alkaline replacement batteries are available off-the-shelf at any retail store that carries standard alkaline batteries. Please dispose of spent batteries in accordance with your local waste disposal laws. For main product rechargeable batteries, MSI provides information on how to obtain and replace the battery of the product and the batteries should be serviced by MSI or an authorized service provider. These services can be obtained by contacting Online Customer Service.

Product Upgradeability & Reparability(4.4.2.5) MSI offers customers of the products, replacement parts, product repair, and services for 3 years from the date of sale. Available hardware features may only be offered as part of an upgrade, repair, or replacement service offered by MSI or an authorized service provider. Damages caused by servicing of products not authorized by MSI or the use of modified or non-MSI authorized parts or components are not covered by MSI Limited Warranty Agreement. Provision of product take-back services(4.6.1.1) Waste electrical equipment may contain hazardous substances and thus endanger human health & the environment. Proper disposal is therefore required. MSI provides free recycling of the products to ensure that the product reaches the end of its useful life and that it is recycled responsibly. To properly recycle your equipment through this service, please follow the steps: 1. Please delete your personal data from your waste equipment. 2. CLICK HERE to know how to recycle your end-of-life product. 3. You can find out the recycling location on the website. 4. Contact the MSI location by phone or email to schedule your pickup. The customers are responsible for any shipping and delivery charges.
Recycled content in wood-based fiber packaging(4.7.3.1) MSI's packaging which is made of wood-based fiber (e.g. cardboard) contains a minimum of 90% recycled content.

Greenhouse gas emissions from product transport(4.8.2.2) MSI assesses greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions resulting from the transport of products declared to conform to this standard. Emissions assessed shall include well-to-wheel GHG emissions from the transport of the final product from the location of final assembly to the location of the purchaser. Public disclosure regarding conflict minerals in products(4.10.2.1) MSI through routine annual due diligence investigation under the RMI, MSI demands all suppliers to purchase non-conflict materials and avoid using conflict minerals, indirect acts in defiance of human rights, and violation of national and international laws.
