How to fix strange noise coming from the laptop?
Strange noise occurs from the laptop. Please identify the source of an Abnormal Noise first.
Abnormal Hard drive Noise: The beeping/clicking/grinding noise occurs while reading or writing the data.
Abnormal Speaker Noise: Humming/ buzzing noise
Abnormal Fans Noise: Whirring/vibrating/loud wind noise
If the noise comes from the hard drive, please switch off the power-saving mode of the hard disk first. Otherwise, you shall contact MSI customer service.

When the noise comes out of the fans, you could try to troubleshoot the problem by following the steps below:
1. For some laptop model which has the Cooler boost function, please check the [Cooler Boost] button to see whether this function is switched on or off first.If the Cooler Boost function is on, please switch it off and check whether the noise problem still exists or not.
After the Cooler boost function switches on, the fan blade will rotate with the highest RPM to have the best cooling effect.
While the fan rotates at the highest RPM, the loud wind noise is occurred because of the “whooshing” sound as the fan spins around at velocity.
Attention: If there is any clicking or clipping sound, please directly contact the local customer service.

2. Open MSI Dragon Center/MSI Center/MSI Center Pro to adjust the fan’s speed, and check whether the abnormal sound exists or not.

1. In MSI dragon center, click 「System environment setting」→ 「Setting」→ 「Basic」.

2. Click 「Setting」, drag the adjustable bar to slow down the fan speed.

1. In MSI center, click 「Features」→「User Scenarios」→ 「User」→ In Fan speed select 「Advanced」→ 「Setting」.

2. In the advanced fan setting, adjust the CPU & GPU fan speed based on your requirement. After finishing the adjustment, click 「Save」to keep your settings.

Using MSI center Pro to troubleshoot the fan noise issue
1. In MSI Center Pro, click 「Performance Optimizer」→「 High-performance」→ In Fan speed select 「Advanced」→「Setting」.

2. In the advanced fan setting, adjust the CPU & GPU fan speed based on your requirement. After finishing the adjustment, click 「Save」to keep your settings.
