My hard drive cannot be detected during installation of the operating system.

Checking for hardware issues
When first starting the boot process, tap [Delete] repeatedly to enter the BIOS Menu.


If information related to the hard disk is not visible, please perform the EC reset procedure. To perform the EC reset procedure, insert a paperclip or other similarly pointed object into the battery reset hole at the bottom of the unit.
(Important):
1. Some models do not have a battery reset hole; for these models, remove the power adapter and the battery if applicable, and then wait for for 15 seconds before placing it back.
2. The location of the battery reset hole differs according to the model. Refer to the product manual for your device for more specific directions.
3. After performing the reset procedure, connect the battery and power adapter to activate the battery. If these peripheral devices are not connected, the computer will fail to boot.

Setting up the BIOS
Press the DEL key to enter the BIOS menu. Under "Advanced Options," change the field reading "SATA Mode" to "AHCI Mode." After completion, press "F10" to save and exit. Afterwards, reboot the device to proceed with the installation.
