Answer

If your device cannot power on or enter the operating system, please follow the instructions below:

 

A. Remove all the external devices and self-upgraded hardware.

    Including but not limited to SSDs, memory modules, external monitors, mise, keyboards, USB flash devices, and so on.

B. Restore BIOS settings

    1. Restart the laptop and press “Delete” when the MSI logo shows up.

    2. After entering the BIOS menu, go to the Save & Exit tab > Load Optimized Defaults > Yes.

C. Update/Reflash BIOS

    Refer to FAQ-3864 and update the BIOS to the latest version.

 

If the problem isn’t resolved after following the steps above, please find the description that matches your symptom and follow the corresponding instructions:

1. BSoD with an error code “Inaccessible_boot_device”

    Please check the status of the VMD option.

    If the status of the VMD option has been changed, please revert it to the previous settings.

    

2. BSoD with error codes “Hard drive not detected,” “operating system not found,” or “No bootable device found”

    (1) Please refer to FAQ-9990 and perform an EC reset.

    (2) Enter BIOS menu > Storage Information, and check if the SSDs are recognized in the BIOS.

         If the SSDs are not recognized, please reinstall, or replace the SSDs.

    (3) Verify SSDs contain bootable operating system.

         If not, please go to Download Windows 11 and install the system.

3. Enter BIOS menu directly at startup.

    Please refer to FAQ-11149.

    

4. Enter EFI shell directly after startup.

    Please refer to FAQ-8756.

    

5. No display after the MSI logo shows up

6. Black screen with the power button LED OFF after pressing the power button.

7. Black screen with the power button LED ON after pressing the power button.

    For all three cases, please refer to FAQ-9990.

8. Enter the WinRE environment directly at startup.

    Please refer to FAQ-11151.

    

9. The device enters a restart loop at startup.

    Please refer to FAQ-11153.
